A-10C Thunderbolt II Canopy & wheels paint mask set for the G.W.H kit
Re-usable die-cut mask set
Interior and Exterior included
The set includes one sheet of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
A-10
Thunderbolt II is straight-wing, subsonic, twin-engine jet, made by Fairchild-Republic in the mid 70s. It entered service in 1977 and since then, more than 700 have been made. It went through series of upgrades, which made it even more sophisticated machine that it was ever planned to be. It is used solely by US Air Force and is rather unique platform for close air support and tank busting missions. There is only one other jet with similar /however inferior/ characteristics and that is Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot/Rook. The latter was designed in USSR as an A-10 counter-measure and was loosely based on photos and information from Northrop YA-9 prototype. YA-9 was the main competitor to the A-10 in the USAF A-X program. However, A-10 carries greater weapons load, flies higher and is more agile than the Sukhoi’s alternative.
Canopy mask set
for A-10C Thunderbolt II /AKA Warthog/ is based on Great Wall Hobby kit #L4829. The mask set cannot be used with any other tooling of the plane, however it might suit further G.W.H. releases, if the clear sprue numbering/lettering remains the same. The set features interior and exterior masks, as well as masks for the wheels and for the AN/AAQ-33 Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod featured in the kit.
