F-101 Voodoo Single seat replacement canopy set for the Kitty Hawk kit
This a completely redesigned canopy set for the F-101 B Voodoo. This set is made to improve the kit canopies as much as possible. The kit canopies have a very flat profile and very little Omega shape, although the Omega is not as pronounced as many would believe. The cockpit opening is not that accurate, which makes compromises to the canopy, however to fix it all would be almost impossible. So these are made to make an improvement to the canopy especially if you wish to pose in the open position. As the canopies are very thin care does need to be taken when working with them. The canopies were designed in 3D CAD, and printed, the printed parts are then polished to the best possible finish and then cast in clear polyurethane resin, which can be dipped or lightly polished. A mask set is provided to mask the outside of the canopy and you can use it to mask and paint the canopy seal, note these are not visible on all aircraft.

The modeller is to take fitting the canopy, especially at the rear where the hinges are, you may wish to build up the slots in the fuselage with thin shims of plastic card. The hinge slots on this version are not symmetrical so trim the starboard slightly to suite the canopy, it requires about 0.5mm trimmed off the vertical wall.
