Re-usable die-cut paint masks

The set includes three sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.

Tomcats from VF-1 Wolfpack were first of the type delivered to the US NAVY fighter squadron in 1973. Those were the Tomcat jets that first saw action on board of USS Enterprise in 1974 in Saigon. Besides those facts being one of the reasons, VF-1 Wolfpack became famous also for its colorful insignia, that was altered throughout the years, but more or less kept its original appearance. Tomcats from the 70s were painted in similar fashion, with High-Visibility markings and with less attention to the grey camouflage appearance typical for the later years of the F-14 Tomcat service in the US NAVY. The red colors in the VF-1 Wolfpack insignia made the F-14 very noticeable and memorable.

VF-1 Wolfpack

mask set is designed to be used with 1/48 scale F-14 Tomcat in its early versions. The set is based on Tamiya kit #61114, but it is suitable for AMK as well as other kits of the Tomcat in quarter scale. This Wolfpack set depicts only the early appearance of the insignia, typical for the first few years of service of the twin jet in the 70s. The DN Models mask set features the markings that you see on the cover of this set, with some of the markings missing. Those are mostly smaller items that are hard to be cut in 48th scale. Those are to be substituted with decals. However, the large and most important features of the Wolfpack are presented in this mask set.
