F-35A Lightning II RAM Panels “Early Version” paint masks set for the Tamiya kit

The set includes four sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.

Lightning II is the 5th Generation Fighter Jet planned to be the backbone of US and NATO Air Forces up to the late 2060s. The stealth jet is also in service with countries as Australia, Japan, South Korea, Israel and others. There are many potential buyers for two of the three options that F-35 is available in – F-35A being the conventional fighter jet and F-35B, which is a STOVL variant, capable of carrier operations. The third option – F-35C – is designed for aircraft carrier use and will be operated solely by US NAVY. All three are similar in their capabilities, with the B having slightly shorter range due to complications with the swiveling engine for vertical take off and landing ops.

is designed for Tamiya F-35A 48th scale release /#61124/ and any eventual derivatives & re-packs. The mask set features RAM Panels that cover the “Early” version of the paint scheme. Tamiya chose the name “Early” for planes that have distinctive light gray RAM panels, instead of single-tone camo appearance typical for most of the latest production jets. Nevertheless, in scale F-35 looks far better when the distinction between the RAM Panels and the standard paint are vividly visible. The reasons are many, but most important one is that in scale RAM Panels of the F-35 are always exaggerated and if not painted differently the create toy-ish appearance of the finished model.
