MV-22 canopy, windows & wheels paint masks

MV-22 Osprey canopy, windows & wheels paint masks (interior & exterior) for the HobbyBoss kit.

Suggested use: HobbyBoss #HB81769

The set includes two sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.

Osprey MV-22

Canopy, Windows and Wheels masks set is designed for HobbyBoss kit #81769. It is in 48th scale and it is the first decent substitute of Italeri’s quarter scale release known from two decades ago. This masks set features interior and exterior paint masks and it is meant to be used with the specific HobbyBoss kit mentioned. It is not certain that it will fit any future releases, aftermarket canopies or Osprey kits made by different manufacturers. The set can be used for more than one kit, if masks are being carefully removed after painting.

HobbyBoss 

kit of the Osprey is the latest Osprey representation on the market. Its release was promised for 2020, but it appeared in early 2021. The kit itself features only one paint option OOTB. It is Marines variant and it lacks the extravagant vertical fin paintings typical for many of the Ospreys currently in use. For this reason, along with this paint mask set for the canopy, there are other options for insignia of several different MV-22 variants sold as separate mask sets. This kit is good out of the box, but it can be significantly improved with the usage of masks instead of decals. Especially with its light grey schemes, decal film might be clearly visible, while the paint will blend realistically if masks are being used instead.
