Osprey MV-22
Insignia paint masks set is designed for HobbyBoss kit #81769. This mask set features insignia paint masks, designed to substitute the decals included in this Hobby Boss release. Unfortunately, HobbyBoss decided to include just one single decal option for this kit. This mask set covers it and in addition to that includes a bonus option. This bonus option features Osprey MV-22 168220 EP/00 from VMM-265 “Dragons”. The aircraft appeared with a bright red tail and was stationed at US Marines Air Station Futenma, in Okinawa, Japan.
DN Models
set 48/827-088 is basically 2 in 1 set. The substitute for the OOTB option is equal to the one featured in the HobbyBoss’ box. The overall appearance is low-visibility light gray scheme. Due to many reasons, that can cause some decal issues. Especially with such light schemes, decal film might be clearly visible and in the same time the paint will blend realistically only if masks are being used instead. The second variant included in this DN Models set is a bright red tail MV-22 Osprey, which will give the option to represent a more vivid and attractive option, slightly different from the standard everyday military looks. Besides the red vertical fin, the US insignia of the second option is also in full color with this particular aircraft.
