RQ/MQ-1'Predator' unmanned reconnaissance/attack aircraft.
The RQ/MQ-1 predator is classified as UAV or unmanned aerial vehicle, which was developed and manufactured by General Motors. RQ-1 is designed as an aerial surveillance and unmanned reconnaissance aircraft. Power is driven by a Rotax 914 four-cylinder single engine that can provide 101 horsepower. The RQ-1 has a higher speed of 135 miles per hour and an endurance of 454 miles. In response to needs, some of the RQ-1s were converted into offensive purposes in 2002, and a Hellfire missile was mounted on each of the wings for missions. This led to the official appearance of the MQ-1 in 2005 as a multi-functional vehicle. The RQ-1 and MQ-1 are currently deployed in the 11th and 15th reconnaissance columns of the US Air Force. These flying insects have been successfully used in places such as Bosnia, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
