SR-71A Blackbird Replacement undercarriage set for the Revell kit
This is a brass cast undercarriage and 3D printed parts set for the Revell kit. This set has mostly been redrawn in 3D, with design changes included to allow for extra strength and for the ability to install the undercarriage at a latter stage of construction and painting. The parts shown in the CAD rendered views show the parts included in the set. The golden parts are the brass parts and the grey parts are the 3D resin parts. The modeller will need to do some minor modifications to the kit parts to allow the ‘new’ base structures for the main undercarriage to be installed. The nose wheel bay has one part replaced in 3D resin, only a small amount of adjustment maybe required. Kit parts will be required to complete the undercarriage set. Note brass rod is supplied for the main wheel axles, and small bushes are also included to fit into the one kit wheel that has a slightly larger hub hole. So with this in mind any aftermarket wheels designed to fit the kit parts should work without too many problems.
Note you will need to clean up some casting sprue gates from the parts and the odd small brass 'inclusions' that may appear through the casting process.
