Su-24 Fencer Ukrainian digital camo & insignia paint masks set for the Trumpeter kit
The set includes four sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.
Su-24 Fencer
is the Soviet answer to the US made General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark. As the latter, the Su-24 is an all-weather, twin-engine, tactical bomber with swing-wing configuration and two man crew. It was the first Soviet-made aircraft that could carry a digital navigation and attack system. Produced between 1967 and 1993, the Fencer is still in service and was used by various export customers. Among these are/were Iran, Algeria, Libya, Syria, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Russia and Ukraine. Su-24 saw service in various conflicts and proved to be among the most reliable Soviet era jets still in use. However, it was significantly inferior compared to F-111, mostly due to its unrefined electronics and limited payload, which is almost half the load that Aardvark can carry. Fencer was also slower and with limited service ceiling compared to General Dynamics’ jet.
Digital Camo
mask set covers the camouflage of the Su-24 Fencers used by Ukrainian Air Force. The digital camo scheme is applied on the last of the Su-24Ms that Ukraine kept in service. Although some of those are still flying and participated in the 2022 Russian Invasion in Ukraine, the planes are about to be retired soon. Nevertheless, the Digital Camouflage applied by Ukrainian Air Force is one of a kind and comparable only with Su-25 Frogfoots used by the same forces as well as the notorious Ghost Of Kyiv MiG-29. This DN Models’ paint mask set is designed using Trumpeter #02835. It is suitable for any Su-24 in 48th scale. It includes the national insignia and bort number 20.
