Safe plane launch? Then you need a "Shooter"! Τhe shooter is responsible for overseeing the catapult launch of aircraft from the flight deck. This role is critical for the safe and efficient launch of aircraft, ensuring that aircrafts are properly positioned, connected to the catapult, and launched at the correct time.
The shooter works closely with the catapult officer (cat officer) and other personnel on the flight deck to coordinate launch operations. They communicate with the pilots, provide final checks before launch, and give the signal to launch the aircraft. This role requires precision, quick decision-making, and a thorough understanding of aircraft catapult systems and procedures.
